Monkeypox: Central team to meet Health Minister today, health workers will be trained

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The central team, which has arrived in the state to evaluate the Monkeypox situation, will meet Health Minister Veena George on Monday. The team will assess the preventive measures taken by the health department.

The health department will train the health workers and ASHA workers to prevent Monkeypox, on Monday. Facilities will be arranged for the public to watch the training programme on YouTube. The awareness programme is scheduled from 11 am till 12 pm.

Meantime, the measures to set up help desks at airports have reached its final phase. The help desk aims to identify symptoms and ensure treatment for those coming from abroad.
