THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Minister Mohammed Riyas on Tuesday said that weather also has a role in the poor conditions of roads in Kerala. The minister, who said that pothole-free roads are the government's goal, added that record works are going on as far as the Public Works Department is concerned.
Earlier today, the opposition had moved an adjournment motion stating that the government had failed in completing the repair works of the roads in the state in a timely manner. The adjournment motion was moved by Eldhose Kunnappilly.
The minister said in the assembly that new plans are being prepared to improve the condition of the roads during monsoon and the quality of the roads has now increased. Efforts are being made to coordinate various departments in this regard. He said that the government's aim is to have pothole-free roads.
