Olympian P T Usha takes oath in Hindi as Rajya Sabha member

NEW DELHI: Olympian P T Usha nominated to the Rajya Sabha took oath as a member. She took the oath in Hindi as it was reviewed to be the language spoken by more people. Usha said that many things could be done for sports before the swearing-in.

P T Usha was nominated from Kerala after actor Suresh Gopi. Four people, including Usha, famous in various fields were nominated to the Rajya Sabha from South India. Usha said that she is happy with the recognition and is ignoring the statements made by some against her.

She along with her husband V Sreenivasan reached Delhi and completed the formalities in the Parliament. Usha called on BJP chief J P Nadda.
