Attempt to wreck train by placing rocks near railway track, train narrowly escapes disaster

PAPPINISSERY: An attempt was made to endanger a train by placing rocks near the railway track in Valapattanam in Kannur. The attempt was during the late hours of Tuesday. It is reported that the Malabar Express, which arrived at 9.30 am, hit the rock and continued on its way.

Between Pappinissery railway station and Valapatnam rail bridge, huge pieces of granite were placed on both sides of the track. The police informed that there are indications that a sabotage attempt has taken place. Valapattanam police and railway police have started investigation into the incident.
