KOZHIKODE: The ‘Nava Chintan Shivir’ organized by the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) is all set to begin in Kozhikode on Saturday. AICC general secretary K C Venugopal MP, who is in charge of the organization, will inaugurate the two-day event at 10 am. The function is held at Aspin courtyards near Kozhikode beach.
The event follows a similar exercise held at the national level in Udaipur, Rajasthan. The Chintan Shivir is expected to discuss ways to strengthen the organizational system and strategies for the next Lok Sabha polls.
The function will be presided over by KPCC president K Sudhakaran. Prominent leaders namely Tariq Anwar, AICC general secretary in-charge of Kerala, opposition leader V D Satheesan, congress working committee member and AICC general secretary Oommen Chandy, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh, former opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala and AICC secretary Viswanathan Perumal will participate in the deliberations.
The event will be attended by a total of 191 delegates. The topics for discussions at the Chintan Shivir are prepared by five committees. The delegates will deliberate on these topics.
A proclamation march was organized in the city ahead of the Chintan Shivir. The march, organized by the Youth Congress, KSU and Mahila Congress, was flagged off by K K Abraham.
