'Doctor' who practised using fake degree of Russian university arrested

HYDERABAD: Police have arrested a doctor who was practising on the basis of a fake degree from a Russian university. The arrested has been identified as K Vijay Kumar (36), who worked at RK Hospital. Police have also arrested CT scan technician Afroz Khan and computer expert Mahboob Ali Junaid as per the information given by him.

According to the police, Vijay Kumar had been working as a duty medical officer at the hospital for the last 6 months. Police also said that the accused had used the fake certificates to work as a medical officer in another hospital two years ago, earning Rs 60,000 per month. He had also worked as a PRO and compounder in various hospitals.

Vijay Kumar met Afroz Khan two years ago while working as a PRO in a hospital. Afroz Khan's friend Mahboob Ali Junaid, a computer hardware technician, agreed to get him fake certificates. Vijay Kumar bought the fake certificates from them by giving Rs 6.5 lakhs. Police also found that Junaid had downloaded formats of various MBBS certificates from the internet.
