Murder of traditional healer; Main accused Shaibin Ashraf’s wife arrested

MALAPPURAM: Fazna, wife of Shaibin Ashraf, the main accused in the murder of traditional healer Shaba Sharif, has been arrested. She was taken into custody from Wayanad. Police said Fazna had clear knowledge about the crime and tried to destroy the evidence.

The healer, a native of Mysuru, was killed after holding him hostage at Ashraf’s house for more than a year. He was chained and tortured brutally in hostage. As the body could not be found, the investigation team is trying to collect maximum scientific evidence in the case. Shaba Sharif was abducted by industrialist Shaibin Ashraf of Nilambur and his team in August 2019. He was tortured brutally as the healer refused to divulge the healing technique. Shaba Sharif died in October 2020.
