Maniyan who steals temple idols and donation boxes arrested

VEMBAYAM: The police have arrested two people in connection with a theft centered around temples. The accused have been identified as Maniyan (65), a native of Puvathoor and Williams (59), a native of Nedumangad. They were nabbed by the Vattappara police amid a burglary attempt at the Thumbodu Temple premises at around 1 am on Tuesday.

Maniyan is an accused in the donation box theft at Kazhunadu Shree Indalayappan Temple along with other cases. He was released from jail, only recently. The accused were arrested by a team led by SCPO Binu Kumar and home guard Rajeev based on a tip-off received by Vattappara circle inspector Giri Lal.
