13-year-old boy dies after two-storied house collapses in Perumbavoor, grandpa in serious condition

KOCHI: A 13-year-old boy died after a double storied house collapsed in Perumbavoor. He has been identified as Hari Narayanan of Kavilthottam Mana. The incident happened at Keezhillam in Perumbavoor at 7 am Thursday morning.

There were seven people in the house including the boy’s grandfather Narayanan Nambooodiri. He sustained serious injuries. He is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Aluva.

Only the boy and his grandfather were on the ground floor at the time of the incident. The boy was sleeping. The locals who rushed to the spot hearing a noise informed the fire force. Though they were taken out and rushed to the hospital, the life of the boy could not be saved. There were heavy rains in the area for the past one week. The locals said the house was newly constructed.
