sc-

NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court banned Odisha MLA Prashant Kumar Jagdev from his own constituency. A bench comprising Hemant Gupta and Vikram Nath has also been banned BJP MLA Prashant Kumar Jagdev, who is on trial for driving a vehicle into protesters, from speaking at public meetings for a year.

The Supreme Court issued these directions while granting bail to the MLA in the case. Prashant Kumar has been banned from entering the constituency for one year. During the prohibition period, he can enter the constituency with the permission of the district collector. But there are strict instructions for him not to address a crowd of more than five people or try to influence the witnesses in the case.

In addition to these conditions, the Supreme Court has also permitted the trial court to impose any other condition. The case against Prashant Kumar is that he drove a luxury car towards the protesters. 20 people were injured in the incident.
