THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The IMD has warned that there is a possibility of extremely heavy rain in the state for the next five days. There is a possibility of heavy rain in the districts from Thiruvananthapuram to Idukki on Monday. It has been warned that the rain will continue till Thursday. Weather experts have also informed that due to continuous rain with thunder and lightning, there may be small flash floods regionally.
A caution has been issued to fishermen as strong waves are likely along with rain till Thursday. Heavy rain warning has been issued in 8 districts from Thiruvananthapuram to Thrissur on Tuesday. Orange alert is issued in 10 districts on Wednesday and Thursday. The possibility of landslides and waterlogging is high as more rain clouds can arrive in a short period of time. Landslides are also likely in forest areas.
