‘My brother should not suffer the pain I suffered'; Afra, who requested help for baby brother, is no more

KANNUR: Thirteen-year-old Afra, who was suffering from Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), died at a private hospital in Kozhikode early Monday morning.

Afra's brother Muhammad is also suffering from SMA. Many from different parts of the world seeing the video of Afra seeking financial help for her brother, had helped her. She got around Rs 18 crore. Money flowed for her brother after the society took the words of Afra that her brother should not suffer the pain she suffered.

Afra, who was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Kannur was shifted to a hospital in Kozhikode the other day. She was under treatment for SMA. Meanwhile, she fell ill and was admitted to the hospital.
