KANNUR: Kannur Police Association has raised protest in the incident of hiring policemen for marriage. The Kannur Additional Superintendent of Police assigned four policemen for duty at a wedding in Pannur. The Police Association has filed a complaint with the Chief Minister about the incident. C R Biju, State General Secretary of the Police Officers Association, responded through Facebook that the Kerala Police should not be turned into an exhibition item in luxury venues.

The security of VIPs attending a person's private function should be taken seriously, and that person's VIP is applicable to him only and not for the state police, wrote Biju on Facebook.
