Woman gives lift to youth, gets sexually abused

VYPIN: The police arrested a 46-year-old youth for sexually abusing an 18-year-old girl. The arrested has been identified as Rahul alias P S Sreenath of Kodungalloor, running a lodge taken for rent at Cherai beach. The Munambam police registered a case on the complaint of the woman. The accused was arrested from his house as per the directive of Munambam DySP M K Murali.

The complaint said the accused had taken a lift from her when she was going home in her two-wheeler from Cherai beach on July 29. The accused asked her to stop the vehicle at the turning of the beach. He later took her to a building which is under his custody and then raped her. The woman sought treatment at the Ernakulam General Hospital the next day.
