police-

VIZHINJAM: Following a phone message that an LTTE group from Sri Lanka is there in Kovalam, the police scrambled for two hours. After investigation, the Kovalam police found a Malayalam man and a woman who runs an electrical firm and had settled permanently in Gujarat. The young man's Tamil-like speech and his need to have an address in Kerala to receive a parcel from another state raised suspicions.

SHO G Praiju said that since the 20th of last month, they had approached the tourist boaters of Poovar and inquired about the boat engine. The suspicious boatman called the police when he asked for the address to receive the parcel arriving the next day from Bengaluru. On further investigation, the group was found living in a Kovalam homestay. The police stated that the duo running the electric firm showed the documents and the engine matters were investigated in connection with it.
