Parakkum Thallika' film has made all Malayalis laugh. One can't get enough of comedy scenes of Dileep, Harishree Ashokan and Cochin Haneefa. Although the hero was Dileep, the main character in the film was a bus called 'Thamarakshan Pillai', which is in a pathetic condition. There is a story behind how the bus became part of the film. Cinematographer Saloo George has shared that story with Kerala Kaumudi.

'While doing the film, we searched a lot to get the bus. After much wandering, we got the bus from Kottayam. It was in good condition, well painted and cleaned. We bought the bus for a very small amount. It costs inly Rs 2-3 lakh. Later, we demolished that bus and made into a form in which camera and crane can be arranged. Also, named it as Thamarakshan Pillai.

To be honest, the vehicle should not have been in such a good condition. It should be made into an old rusty bus. People in the team including Johny Antony Babu demolished the bus with a hammer. We also sprayed the bus to give make it look rusty and thus set up Thamarakshan Pillai.", said the cameraman.
