Cries heard from underground; Farmer finds newborn buried alive

AHMEDABAD: In a shocking incident, a newborn girl who was buried alive, was rescued by a farmer. The incident took place in Sabarkantha, Gujarat.

The girl was rescued after the farmer, who heard the baby’s faint cries, found her hand sticking out. He immediately dug the baby out, called an ambulance and admitted her to a nearby hospital. The baby, who was having difficulty in breathing, has been shifted to an ICU. The police have filed a case in connection with the incident. An investigation to find the baby’s parents is underway.
