KSRTC to cut down on services till Wednesday as diesel shortage continues

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Due to the diesel crisis in KSRTC, service cuts will continue after Sunday. According to reports, ordinary services will be restricted till next Wednesday. The earlier decision to cut down the ordinary services widely on Saturday and Sunday. But if ordinary buses are not plying on working days, people will face great difficulty.

Last day, fifty percent of ordinary buses were suspended. It is reported that there may not be any ordinary buses tomorrow. But fast passenger buses will operate. KSRTC officials have explained that there is no money to fill diesel in buses as the employees have been paid. At the same time, labour unions have accused KSRTC of creating an artificial diesel shortage. KSRTEA also criticized the management for trying to bargain with the government by agitating the people when the effort to bargain with the employees failed.

The money due for diesel was diverted because the court also directed that KSRTC employees should be paid by the 10th of every month. Meanwhile, Swift buses are running non-stop.
