Attempt to commit suicide after throwing kids into river, children die, mother escapes

CHENNAI: In a tragic incident, a mother attempted to kill herself after throwing her three children into a river. The children died on the spot. The mother has been admitted to a hospital. The incident took place at Santhikuppam in Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu. The dead has been identified as Prince, Kuralarasan and Yashini. They were thrown into the river by their mother Amuda, wife of Parashuraman, a native of Santhikuppam. Later, Amuda, who tried to commit suicide, was rescued by the locals and relatives.

According to police, the woman tried to kill herself and her kids following a family dispute. The police have registered a case against Amuda, who is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital.
