All that glitters on social media is not gold, watch out for fraudsters: Police on social media

vineeth

Amid the arrest of Reels performer Vineeth, a resident of Chirayinkeezhu, on a sexual abuse complaint, the police have now posted a post to watch out for social media fraudsters. The post is captioned 'All that glitters on social media is not gold' indicating that social media users must be vigilant. The police warns against accepting friend requests from unfamiliar or seemingly fake profiles.

Vineeth had told many people that he had resigned from the police force and was working in a channel. But the police investigation found that he had studied only up to Plus Two. After befriending the girls, the accused would pretend to suspect that they were having affairs with other people. Then the girls will provide her email and Instagram IDs and passwords to make him trust them. Then the accounts will be operated by Vineeth and girls will be forced to follow his instructions.
