THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Public Works Department informed that the potholes on the National Highway and Public Works Roads will be filled within a week if the weather continues as it is now. Tarring and filling of potholes have started in all the places where there was no rain in the last two days. Tarring was done today in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam and Thrissur districts. Potholes that were closed with metal in the last few days were tarred yesterday. The authorities have directed to complete the work as soon as possible by tomorrow. The Public Works and National Highways Department has asked the employees and contractors to complete the work as soon as possible in wake of the situation where the High Court has taken a strict stand on the issue of filling potholes on the roads.
