Youth arrested for abetting wife’s suicide

IDUKKI: A 23-year-old youth was arrested by the Munnar police on charges of abetment to suicide following the death of his wife who was found hanging in the house. He has been identified as Praveen Kumar in the lower division of Kannan Devan Company's Periyavara Estate.

Praveen's wife Sreeja was found hanging in the house on June 16. It is hinted that his relationship with a woman of two children was the reason for her to take the drastic step.

Praveen and Sreeja, who were in love got married a year ago. After the marriage, he got intimate with a woman having two children. Police said there were regular fights in the house over the issue.
