THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The authorities of the SAT Hospital of the Medical College were left worried for several hours after a fully pregnant woman, who was admitted to the labour room, went missing from the hospital. Rubia Banu (28), a native of Kandapatty in Salem, is the one who went missing from the labour room. Later, it was found that she had reached her house in Salem. She told the hospital authorities that she left the hospital as she had difficulty understanding the instructions.

The woman had reached the SAT hospital around 1.30 pm on Saturday. Following this, she was subjected to some tests and shifted to the labour room stage one. The hospital authorities realized that she went missing around 5 am on Sunday. As her accomplices too went missing, the hospital authorities soon informed the police. However, the police were unable to find the woman. The mobile number given by the woman to the hospital was switched off.

CCTV footage from the hospital showed the pregnant woman coming out from stage one of the labour room and leaving the hospital after changing her clothes. Hospital Superintendent Dr Bindu said that a detailed investigation will be conducted into the incident.
