JAIPUR: A group of senior citizens were seen serving drugs on Independence Day in a government school in Rajasthan. It was after the Independence Day program that about a dozen seniors came to the school with intoxicants. They sat in a circle and distributed opium and poppy husks. The incident was reported in a government school in Rajasthan's Barmer district.
According to Chief Block Education Officer (CBEO) Omprakash Vishnoi, the incident took place at a government school in the Gudamalani area of Barmer.
"Around a dozen people reached school after the Independence Day function. According to four videos which went viral after the incident, the accused were serving opium and poppy husk to each other and were consuming it," Vishnoi said.
He said that an inquiry will be conducted into the incident and the statements of the students and teachers will be recorded for this purpose.
