KOCHI: A person collapsed and died during a dispute that took place between private bus staff and car passengers in Paravur. The deceased has been identified as Fort Kochi native Fazaluddin (54). The incident took place in the Kannankulangara region at 7.45 last night.

It was Fazaluddin's son Farhan (20) who drove the car. According to the police, the dispute broke out between the two parties over not giving way to the bus. Farhan stated that the Narmada bus on the Kozhikode-Vytila route hit the mirror of his car while overtaking at high speed. Following this, Farhan blocked the bus and questioned the driver. As the dispute heated up, a bus employee took a knife and tried to stab Farhan. Farhan suffered a minor injury while blocking this. Seeing this, Fazaluddin, who was in the car, collapsed. Although Fazaluddin was immediately rushed to Paravur Taluk hospital, he was pronounced dead. The bus employees soon fled the area with the bus. The police said that they have taken steps to catch the bus.
