CHENNAI: Many film stars from Tamil Nadu entered politics during the last assembly elections. While it is being discussed when Superstar Rajinikanth will enter politics, the news is spreading that another superstar is entering public service. Tamil media reports that South Indian actress Trisha is entering politics.
Cinema and Tamil politics have always been closely linked to each other. MGR, Jayalalitha, Vijayakanth and Khushbu and Kamal Haasan are some of the most famous names from cinema that entered politics. It is said that Trisha got inspired by the public service activities of the Thalapathi Vijay to enter politics. There is also information that the actress is likely to join the Congress. But no official confirmation has come out in this regard.
Meanwhile, Mani Ratnam's epic film Ponniyin Selvan is Trisha's latest release. The first part of the film will hit the theaters in September. The star's other recent films include Arvind Swamy's Sathuranga Vettai 2, Arun Vasigaran's The Road and Malayalam film Ram.
