PALAKKAD: Malli, mother of Madhu, said that she was happy with the verdict canceling the bail of the accused in the Attapadi Madhu murder case. “I hope that I will get justice. I believe in God”, she said. “I was really worried when the eye witnesses turned hostile. I hope that they won’t switch sides again. I’m happy with the court verdict”, said Madhu’s sister.

Meantime, special public prosecutor Rajesh M Menon responded that the decision to cancel the bail of the accused is made by the court, only in the rarest of the rare cases. “We were able to convince the court of the situation of the case. The prosecution had sought the cancellation of bail of 12 accused. The court accepted it. We were able to convince the court of the reason for defection”, he added.

The court on Saturday cancelled the bail of second accused Maraikkar, third accused Shamsuddin, fourth accused Aneesh, fifth accused Radhakrishnan, sixth accused Abu Bakar, seventh accused Siddique, ninth accused Najeeb, tenth accused Jaiju Mon, eleventh accused Abdul Karim, twelfth accused Sajeev, fifteenth accused Biju and sixteenth accused Muneer. Meantime, it did not cancel the bail of first accused Hussain, eighth accused Ubaid, thirteenth accused Satheesh and fourteenth accused Hareesh. Following the cancellation of the bail, fourth accused Aneesh, seventh accused Siddique and fifteenth accused Biju, were remanded. An arrest warrant has been issued for the others.
