Junior NTR to join BJP? Amit Shah meets Tollywood star; Hints rumours of TDP-NDA alliance

HYDERABAD: As part of the BJP’s outreach programme, Union Home Minister Amit Shah met with Tollywood star Junior NTR, grandson of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) founder N T Rama Rao. The minister met the actor in Hyderabad’s Shamshabad during his official Telangana visit.

After the meeting, Amit Shah wrote on Twitter, “Had a good interaction with a very talented actor and the gem of our Telugu cinema Jr NTR in Hyderabad”.

Soon after, Jr NTR tweeted in response, “It was a pleasure meeting you and having a delightful interaction @AmitShah ji. Thanks for the kind words”. The BJP leaders had invited the actor for having dinner with the minister, last evening.

Although, Junior NTR has direct links with his father’s TDP, he is not active in politics. Currently, the actor is completely focused on his film career. However, there are rumors that the star's meeting with Amit Shah is part of a move to reunite with the BJP. The TDP, which was previously part of the NDA, had split in 2019.
