KOZHIKODE: It has been more than year since the collapse of a road near the culvert near Malayamma-Puthur road in Kozhikode. In order to avoid accidents, the locals had planted a banana tree in the pothole. In the past six months, there has been no solution for the issue, except for the fact that the banana tree has now borne fruit.

There has been no solution despite lodging a complaint with the PWD a year back, said the locals. Some of the locals are planning to cut the njalipoovan banana and stage a protest in front of the public works department’s office.
