Half of Pakistan is under water due to heavy rain and flash floods. More than thousand people died in the flood. Lakhs of people have lost their homes and livelihoods. A video of a huge hotel on the banks of the Swat river collapsing and getting washed away in flood has gone viral on social media. The hotel was opened recently.

The New Honeymoon Hotel in Kalam, which has almost 150 rooms, was destroyed within seconds by the flood.
A major disaster was averted as the authorities evacuated the guests and staff of the hotel on August 24 as the water level in the river rose due to rain. Azhar Abbas, a Pakistani journalist and managing director of Geo News shared the video of the hotel collapsing on Twitter. 'Iconic New Honeymoon Hotel in Kalam completely destroyed due to rains and flash floods. Unprecedented rains caused havoc across the country with Balochistan, Sindh and South Punjab worst affected.', he tweeted sharing the video.
