TOKYO: A typhoon formed in the East China Sea near the coast of Japan is expected to become the strongest trophical storm of the year. It is reported that the storm named Hinnamnor, is accumulating a sustained wind speed of about 160 mile (257 kmph) to 195 mile (314 kmph). This typhoon is currently 230 km away from Okinawa in Japan.
The storm is likely to cause severe problems in Japan, East China and the Philippines. The US Joint Typhoon Warning Centre and the Japan Meteorological Agency issued a warning about the strength of the typhoon. At the same time, there are indications that the storm may loose its strength in the coming days. Heavy rain is currently being experienced in areas of Japan where the typhoon is passing through.

On the other hand, in the Atlantic Ocean, the area between Africa and the Caribbean region which is known for storms, is reported to be calm in this time. Prior to this, a storm-free August was reported in the area only in 1961 and 1997.
