Kerala govt announces Rs 20 lakh reward to Eldhose Paul; Rs 10 lakh to silver medal winners

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state government has announced cash awards for medal winners at the Commonwealth games and Chess Olympiad. Eldhose Paul who won gold medal in Men's Triple Jump at Commonwealth games will be awarded Rs 20 lakh. Silver medal winners Abdulla Aboobacker (Triple Jump) and M Sreeshankar (Long Jump) will also be given cash award. Keralites Treesa Jolly who won bronze for badminton mixed doubles and P R Sreejesh who bagged silver for hockey are also among the list of awardees.

Nihal Sar will get Rs 10 lakh and SL Narayanan will get Rs 5 lakh for their performance in Chess Olympiad. All winners will also get government jobs.
