Religion in food too! Person asking Swiggy not to send Muslim delivery boy with food slammed, Mahua Moitra MP condemns act

HYDERABAD: A screenshot of a person who ordered food online asking Swiggy not to send a Muslim person with the delivery had recently gone viral where. A native of Hyderabad made such a strange request to Swiggy. Trinamool leader and Lok Sabha MP Mahua Moitra has responded to the incident which has been criticized on social media. The MP asked Swiggy to make the names of such customers public and blacklist them. She also asked the company to file a police complaint against the customer.

The Lok Sabha MP tweeted that the previously hidden thoughts are now becoming open declarations of majoritarianism. "It is distressing to see the normalization of hatred and bigotry as previously hidden personal prejudices now become proud public declarations of majoritarianism," noted Mahua Moitra.

Meantime, there is widespread criticism against the person who requested not to send a Muslim boy for delivery. The customer's request to Swiggy went viral after the screenshot was shared by Telangana State Taxi and Drivers Joint Action Committee Chairman Shaik Salauddin. He tweeted that we are delivery workers to deliver food to everyone, be it Hindu, Muslim, Christian or Sikh.

Congress leader Karti Chidambaram also condemned the incident and asked Swiggy to take the responsibility for it. He tweeted what steps the companies will take to protect the rights of the workers.
