Rains to intensify in state today, yellow alert in four districts, fishing banned

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Heavy rain is likely at isolated places in the state today. Yellow alert has been issued in four districts. According to IMD, rains are likely to continue for the next few days.

Yellow alert has been issued in Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Idukki and Malappuram districts. Yellow alert has also been declared in Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts for tomorrow.

Fishers have been banned from going to sea due to the possibility of strong winds. The IMD advised people living in low-lying areas, near river banks and hilly areas prone to landslides to remain vigilant.
