THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: 107 history sheeters were arrested in a raid conducted by the police in the capital. Of those arrested, 94 are warrant accused and 13 are absconders. They were arrested during the investigation conducted by Thiruvananthapuram Rural SP. The move of the police was on learning that the accused who had left the district had returned to Thiruvananthapuram on the occasion of Onam. They will be remanded to court.
Strong action will be taken against criminals including anti-social elements in the coming days. The rural SP also informed that police including shadow team will be deployed at bus stands, markets and tourist centres. Intelligence reports suggest that law and order problems are likely to increase during Onam. As a part of this, steps are being taken across the state. As a part of this, extensive checks were conducted in all police station limits from five o'clock to nine o'clock in the morning. A special list was prepared for the examination. Those who have committed serious crimes will be transferred to Poojappura Central Jail. It has been decided to arrest others and release them on bail.
