NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is more popular than any other BJP leader in the country, a recent survey said. The internal survey report prepared by the BJP with the help of a private agency found that Modi has not lost much popularity in the country. Meanwhile, the survey report says that there is a significant drop in the popularity of the BJP leaders even in the ruling states.
The survey found that Suresh Gopi is the most popular leader in Kerala. The survey was conducted by the BJP national leadership with the help of a private agency in the states where elections are to be held.
No major leader has more than 25 percent popularity in BJP-ruled states. However, Narendra Modi's popularity has increased. Modi is more popular than state leaders. Based on the findings of the survey, BJP has decided to contest the elections by highlighting Narendra Modi over local leaders.
Meanwhile, the BJP state leaderships are denying the reports regarding the survey. Elections in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh are due later this year. Elections will be held early next year in 6 states, including Rajasthan, Karnataka and Telangana.
