NASA calls off Artemis I launch again due to technical issues over fuel leak

WASHINGTON: The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has once again called off the attempt to launch its moon mission due to technical issues of fuel leakage. The issues have not been resolved yet, said the NASA.

Earlier, the launch scheduled for August 29 from the Kennedy Space Centre in Florida was also postponed due to a similar situation. A damage in the fuel line had caused the issue. Then, the launch was postponed after a technical fault was found in one of the rocket's four core stage engines. After resolving the issues, the launch was rescheduled for Saturday. However, things turned into a crisis following further technical issues.

The Artemis mission aims to take humans to the moon after half a century. Instead of humans, Artemis I will have dolls in space suits. The mission will carry a 7700 kg capsule on a 46 tonne rocket. The rocket will reach the moon in eight to 14 days after the launch.
