Madrassa cleric held in Kashmir for passing information about Indian Army to Pakistan

abdul-wahid

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir police arrested a Muslim cleric who passed sensitive information about the Indian Army to Pakistan. The 22-year-old cleric has been identified as Abdul Wahid. He was arrested from Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir. It was found that he was also allegedly assisting a Pakistan based terror outfit ‘Kashmiri Janbaz Force’. He was found to have passing information about the deployment and movement of security forces to the terrorist group. However, the investigation into his identity led to the arrest of the madrasa teacher.

He worked as a teacher in a madrasa and as a cleric in a mosque in Kishtwar. Following suspicion, he was summoned for interrogation last Friday. The police have also collected evidence regarding his involvement in terrorist activities via online.
