Woman kills son’s classmate for getting more marks than him

PUDUCHERRY: A woman was arrested for murdering her son’s classmate after giving him juice laced with poison. Balamanikandan, an eighth standard student of a private school in Karaikal Nehru Nagar, died after drinking the juice. After missing poison in the juice, she sent it to the child through the school's security guard.

She committed the heinous crime after Balamanikandan got more marks than her son. The child vomited and collapsed after reaching home last evening. He was immediately admitted to the hospital. When the doctors suspected poison to be consumed, the child told his parents about the juice sent via the security guard.

On interrogation, the security guard revealed that the woman told him that she was the boy’s relative and asked him to hand over the juice to the boy. The accused was identified from the CCTV visuals. The child died last night.
