KANNUR: A pastoral letter of the Thalassery archdiocese said the love trap of terrorist organizations targeting Christian girls are increasing. Let us pray for the sorrows of parents who are helpless when their beloved children fall prey to religious extremists.

Let's pray fervently during eight days of fasting for the children to be safe. It is stated in the letter that awareness should be developed so that children do not fall into the pitfalls of terrorist groups. Archbishop Mar Joseph Pamplani also called for the land donation movement through a pastoral letter read in the churches of Thalassery Archdiocese on Sunday.

Christian churches had come to the fore earlier against Love Jihad. The statement of Pala Diocese Bishop Mar Joseph Kallarangat that Catholic girls and youths are being preyed upon by narcotic-loving jihadists, had stoked a controversy. The bishop had warned that Catholic families should be aware of the fact that a sect that provides support for narcotic-love jihad is operating in Kerala and uses such methods in places where weapons cannot be used.

The Syro Malabar Church also came forward by repeatedly saying that there is love jihad in Kerala. The explanation of the church was that it had examined the complaints from various dioceses. However, the stand of the government and the left youth organizations is that there is no love jihad in Kerala.
