Two killed after fishing boat capsizes in Perumathura, 10 missing, rescue operations continue

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Two fishermen were killed after a fishing boat capsized at Muthalapozhy near Anchuthengu in Perumathura. 13 people swam to safety. Reports said those dead are natives of Varkala. The boat capsized due to strong winds. There were 23 people in the boat.

Fishermen and coastal police are engaged in rescue operations. A ship of the coast guard will reach the accident spot soon. Two helicopters of the coast guard from Kochi have left for rescue operations.

The injured have been admitted to Chirayankeezhu Taluk Hospital. The seriously injured will be shifted to the medical college hospital.
