THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday inaugurated the week-long Onam celebrations in Thiruvananthapuram at the Nishagandhi auditorium in Kanakakkunnu. Tourism Department Minister PA Mohammed Riyas presided over the function. Film stars Dulquer Salmaan and Aparna Balamurali were the chief guests.
Chief Minister said that this Onam is an occasion for the people of Kerala to celebrate after the days of floods and Covid. He said that even though climate change is causing concern, he hoped that everyone will be able to celebrate Onam. The Chief Minister wished everyone a happy Onam.
Dulquer Salmaan said that this is an opportunity for everyone to get together and celebrate Onam after many years. He added that the state capital is looking very beautiful with its night lights. Aparna Balamurali said that she is witnessing the most beautiful Onam celebration of her life. The Chief Minister presented gifts to both of them.
Ministers V Sivankutty, Antony Raju, GR Anil, MPs Sasi Tharoor, AA Rahim, MLAs Kadakampally Surendran, VK Prashant, IB Satish, District Panchayat President D Suresh Kumar and Tourism Director PB Nooh were also present.
