THRIKKAKARA: The police have busted hi-tech ganja cultivation inside a flat here. Alan V Raju (26), a native of Pathanamthitta and a UFO technician, and Aparna Reji (24), a native of Kayakulam and an operations executive at the Infopark, were arrested by DANSAF and the Infopark Police for the cultivation of cannabis in Ajanta Apartments in Nilampathinji Mukal near Infopark.

Both of them, who are engineers, have been living in this flat for eight months. The cannabis plant grown in a pot in the kitchen of B3 apartment on the second floor was one and a half meters tall. The police found the details of the research done by the duo in YouTube on how to grow cannabis. They used fan and LED lights to aid its growth.

Alan's claim is that Aparna did not know that it was a ganja plant. The police also took a case against Amal (28), a native of Mallapally in Pathanamthitta, a resident of a nearby flat, who was called by the police to be a witness in the case. The police found ganja in his possession. The accused were arrested under the leadership of Infopark CI Vipindas, and SI James John.
