Excise planning to destroy foreign liquor and beer at outlet in capital city

liquor-

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The excise department is planning to destroy the expired foreign liquor and beer. Stale liquor stored at a beverage outlet in Mukkola will be destroyed. The action is taken on the basis of a letter given to the excise commissioner by the beverage outlet authorities stating that expired liquor cannot be used.

The liquor bottles will be taken to the distillery in Thiruvalla in the coming days and destroyed in the presence of the excise inspector. Excise officials had the other day reached the beverage outlet in Mukkola and found more than 20,000 expired foreign liquor and beer bottles.

Liquor bottles will be destroyed in two categories. Beers have a period of up to six months after brewing. Foreign liquor can be used only for two years. The rule is that should not sell things that have expired. The expired ones are brought to distilleries and destroyed.
