How are clothes of 'padayatris' washed? This is how they clean laundry

KOLLAM: Containers set up to accommodate the 'padayatris' of Bharat Jodo Yatra including Rahul Gandhi has turn out to be a curious sight. Many people came yesterday to see the 60 containers parked near Younus College in Pallimukku.

Containers, except Rahul's, are equipped with four to 12 beds. Two containers have been set up as a hospital. A doctor and a physiotherapist regularly accompany the tour group. Rahul Gandhi's container has only a bed, toilet and other facilities. There are toilets inside the women's container. As for men, toilets are in separate containers.

There is a large container that acts as a laundry unit to wash and iron the dirty clothes of the 'padayatris'. KPCC Vice President VT Balram said that the accommodation in the container was arranged to strengthen the love and unity among the workers from different states and to maintain the camp atmosphere.
