After taking selfie and posting as status, woman ends life by jumping into quarry pond

AMBALAVAYAL: A woman committed suicide by jumping into a quarry pond near the Vikas Colony in Ambalavayal. She has been identified as Praveena (20), daughter of Rajan of Cheengeri Colony. She reached the quarry, took a selfie and then posted it as status. When her brother Praveen came there seeing this, she jumped into the quarry pond. Her brother also jumped to save her but could not rescue her as he didn’t know swimming.

Praveen escaped by holding on to the rope thrown by the locals. After completing her studies from the nursing school in Sultan Bathery, she was working as a lab technician in the hospital there. She leaves behind her mother Rani and sister Pravita.
