Bribe via petty shops: Rs 1.57 lakh and several documents signed by motor vehicle department officials seized

KOZHIKODE: Rs 1.57 lakh and several documents signed by the officials were seized during an inspection at the driving test ground of the motor vehicle department and nearby areas. Transport Commissioner R Sreejith conducted a flash inspection at Chevayur in Kozhikode. The inspection was conducted on the basis of a complaint that officers were taking bribes using middlemen.

Many complaints were received that bribes are taken by using middlemen here. Following this, the inspection was conducted. The money was seized from a petty shop near the driving test grounds. The checking which started in the noon lasted for an hour.
