BJP Tamil Nadu unit to distribute gold rings among newborns to celebrate Modi's birthday

CHENNAI: BJP Tamil Nadu unit has decided to celebrate the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a unique and a grand way by distributing gold rings to infants born tomorrow. Modi's birthday is on September 17. Union Minister of State for Fisheries L Murugan has announced that 720 kilograms of fish will also be distributed.

The gold rings will be given to children born in Govt. RSRM hospital in Chennai. Minister also stated one ring costs Rs 5000. The party's local unit has informed that around 10-15 deliveries are expected. 'This is not a freebie. We are just celebrating our Prime Minister’s birthday by welcoming babies born on that day,' said the minister.

720 kilograms of fish is being distributed in Minister M K Stalin's constituency. Tomorrow is PM Modi's 72nd birthday. That is why 720 kilograms of fish is given. Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana has revived the fish trading industry, so fish has been choosen for distribution. The PM's bithday will also be observed as coastal clean-up day in Tamil Nadu.

The party national leadership has directed all states to celebrate PM's birthday in a grand manner. All the states have been asked to mark the occasion as 'Sewa Pakhada'. So, activities like blood donation and free medical check up camps will be conductded. The party leadership had strictly asked not to celebrate by cutting cakes.
