Body of woman active on social media found in well, native of Vembayam went missing on August 30

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The body of a woman who was reported missing was found in a well near her house. The body was recovered from an abandoned unused well near Vembayam Vettinad Shanthi Mandiram. The body of Anuja (26), who went missing on August 30, was found in a 20-feet deep well near her house last evening. She was the daughter of Padmavathy of Kunnumpuram House near Vettinad Market. The police and fire brigade reached the spot and took the body out.


Her relatives lodged a complaint at the Vattappara police on the day she went missing. Her body was recovered when the investigation was progressing. The body was in a decomposed state. The body was identified from her dress.


Anuja was active on social media and had several social media accounts. The police conducted an investigation focusing on her friends on social media. The police also found that before she went missing, she had paid the money borrowed from some of her friends. The marriage of Anuja, a divorcee, was scheduled to be held on September 3. Police said more details can be clarified only after the post-mortem.
