LONDON: Indian President Draupadi Murmu, who arrived in Britain for a three-day visit in connection with Queen Elizabeth's funeral, paid last rites at Westminster Hall, where Queen Elizabeth's body is kept. The President then recorded the official condolence of the Government of India in a book kept in the hall. The President, who arrived in London on Saturday to attend the funeral of Queen Elizabeth on Monday, was received at Lancaster House by a group including Acting High Commissioner Sujit Ghosh. Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-reigning monarch of the British royal family, died in Scotland on September 8 of complications from old age.
Around 500 world leaders and around 2,000 royals from around the world will attend the Queen's funeral, which begins at 11 a.m. local time on Monday with a two-minute silence. President Draupadi Murmu is also attending the reception hosted by King Charles at Buckingham Palace prior to the ceremony.
